I have been fortunate to work with clients who have wanted to keep the history of their homes alive with new works designed around the original features which have been retained in the home. Here are just a few testimonials:
An exciting project to design a new fan light and door panel for an internal vestibule which incorporated the original motif and to compliment the existing traditional panels in the home.
Mr & Mrs Milburn were delighted with the end result.
When I met with Mr & Mrs Cairns, they had a new wooden door made to fit within the existing wooden framework, which incorporated a fanlight and four side panels. They wanted to introduce some traditional leaded glass panels and had a picture of what they wanted; my challenge was to scale the design to meet the size and specification of their existing framework. We had a great time discussing colours and types of glass that would suite the period features of their home.
I am extremely proud of the three door panels I designed for Mr & Mrs Fell. They wanted to replace a broken glass panel within their front door which involved making three new panels into one complete design. They wanted something in keeping with the style of their house and I worked on a simple design and added something a bit special in the centre panel. It still makes me smile when I pass their door! Mrs Fell was so pleased with the end result because she said I had listened to her brief and budget and made something she will have forever.
It’s great to be asked to do something when the customer is not sure of what they want! It’s a real pleasure to discuss different styles, colours and give the client options as to all the possibilities available to them. I always produce a scaled drawing and bring my customers samples from my glass collection to show the textures and colours available that I think will be most fitting.
